Day 7 - Rome to Florence
We left Rome today in rush hour traffic. On the outskirts of the city we entered the countryside with excellent scenery and long windy roads, which the bikers enjoyed greatly. We stopped along the way at a lovely village for a coffee.
I decided to become an honorary member of Team AA and spent the rest of the day with Paul and Kevin. After a 15 minute break we returned to the roads to arrive in a nice Italian town, set within the old castle walls of Monteriggioni. We then continued to make our way to Florence and arrived at the hotel at 7pm, via a huge rainstorm.
After dinner most of us went to the city centre to witness the stunning architecture and various landmarks, coupled of course with a cheeky beer or two. Strangely enough, the city had so much to offer that the beer was second best for a change! Plenty of photos were taken, we sampled some excellent live music and wandered along the river for a look at the unusual bridges.
Three days left till we’re back, but in the meantime Team AA would like to say hello to the folks back home:
John F to Karen, Leanne and Todd.
Tony to Helen.
Brian to Sean and Shaz.
Nick to Ninja, Torres and Kato.
Sean to Brandon and Sue.
Paul to Carol and Nick.
Andy to Cameron.
We’ll see you all very soon!
