Itinerary

Day 1 - Saturday 20 June 2009
England - France
Once we are all present, we’ll head for the Eurotunnel to start our journey to Italy. After arriving in France we’ll continue via Belgium and Luxembourg to avoid the road tolls. We will then return to France for our overnight stop in Metz. View on Google Maps.
Day 2 - Sunday 21 June 2009
Metz, France - Davos, Switzerland
The first of our early starts! We will head from Metz travelling through some magnificent scenery to Davos and our overnight stop. View on Google Maps.
Day 3 - Monday 22 June 2009
Davos, Switzerland - Verona, Italy
Another early start as we travel down to Brescia for the official start of the BEN Rally. We’ll stop here to look around the Mille Miglia Museum, then head off to Verona for our overnight stop via Lanto, Desenzeno (on the edge of Lake Garda) - which is well worth a stop for the ice cream, before continuing via Bussolengo. Day 4 - Tuesday 23 June 2009
Verona - Rimini
After breakfast we’ll leave Verona - the city of the most famous loves in history, Romeo and Juliet - and set off on our route south via Isola d.Scala, Ostiglia, and Ferrara - a renaissance gem of Italy and convenient rest stop, depending on your time. From here we’ll continue on to Argenta, Revenna, Cesenatico and to the seaside resort of Rimini, the number one beach resort on the Adriatic Sea where we will spend our overnight stay. Day 5 - Wednesday 24 June 2009
Rimini - Spoleto
Today we’ll head in land to San Marino, where we suggest you fill up as we’ll then be crossing the region of Umbria, the “Green Heart of Italy”, which has very few fuel stations, but amazing views and exhilarating winding roads! We’ll pass through Mercatino Conca, Urbino, Gualdo Tadino, Nocera, Nocera Umbra and Foligno on our way to Spoleto for our overnight stop. Spoleto is an outstanding city. It’s built on a hill and still has remains from Roman times, however the general appearance is of a medieval town. View on Google Maps.
Day 6 - Thursday 25 June 2009
Spoleto - Rome (Roma)
From Spoleto we’ll make our way across to Rome via Leonessa, Terminillo and Rieti, which is placed on a small hill top - and ideal place for a refreshment stop. Then we’ll head on to our final destination for the day, Rome, the capital of Italy. This is an ideal place for you to spend the afternoon taking in teh Eternal City and visiting some of the many monuments, churches or galleries, before returning to the hotel for dinner. Day 7 - Friday 26 June 2009
Rome - Florence (Firenze)
After breakfast we’ll leave Rome and head north for Rociglione, Viterbo, Bolsena, Acquapendente, San Quirico d’Orcia, Buonconvento and the picturesque city of Siena - a well-preserved medieval town which lies right in the middle of the Tuscany wine region. From here we’ll head on to Monteriggioni which sits on a small natural hillock. This completely walled medieval town is a must see. We’ll continue on to Poggibonsi, San Casiano in Val di Pesa and then on to your free afternoon in Florence (Firenze) which is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In the heart of Tuscany, your senses will feast on stunning views, fields of sunflowers, miles of vineyards, rolling hills and mountain-top castles - the renaissance captial of the world. Day 8 - Saturday 27 June 2009
Florence (Firenze) - Brescia
This is the final leg of the Mille Miglia. We’ll leave Florence and make our way through della Raticosa, Pianoro, Sasso Marconi, Casalecchio di Reno, Bologna and finally Modena - best known for its industrial prowess, particularly in the Italian motor industry. The old city in the centre is truly monumental, with one of Italy’s finest romanesque cathedrals and worth a short visit. We’ll then head for our last few towns taking in Carpi, Novellara, Viadana, Casalmaggiore, Cermona, Mantova and our final destination Brescia. View on Google Maps.
Day 9 - Sunday 28 June 2009
Brescia, Italy - Metz, France
Today we’ll start our journey back home from Brescia to Metz via Switzerland. View on Google Maps.
Day 10 - Monday 29 September 2009
France - England
We’ll leave Metz to meet at the Eurotunnel and return to England. Again our route takes us through Luxembourg and Belgium to avoid the toll roads. Once back in England we’ll say our final farewells and head for our own beds! View on Google Maps.
